Neighborhood Scene: The Knick in Bed Stuy

Earlier today I noticed that the Boys High School was transformed into the Knickerbocker Hospital – it’s a historic Harlem hospital that is now the setting of the TV show The Knick. The whole corner of Marcy and Madison had actually been transformed into early 20th century New York, with some old-timey shops and an old fruit cart. I’ve seen the crew filming in the area occasionally over the past month of so, but this is the first time I could get up close.

You can’t really see it here, but there was a trolley car parked on Marcy, right in front of the school.
