There’s signage up on the door of the commercial space at 419 Tompkins Avenue, off Hancock. (That’s a busy corner, with perpetual crowds at Peaches HotHouse.) The owners of the space are applying for a liquor license under the name “PK Café LLC.”
After a little digging I found that Community Board 3 already denied the liquor license for the spot, which will be called Lover’s Rock. A DNAinfo article said that this will become a bar with a tropical-inspired food menu that also serves juices during the day. Even with the denial from CB3, there’s a good chance the State Liquor Authority will go ahead and approve the application anyway. However, it’ll take longer — about four to five months — for the SLA to make its decision.
