How’s the Coffee at Bed Vyne Brew?

Bed-Vyne Brew, at 370 Tompkins, is on its second week of hosting a pop-up coffee shop inside the bar. DNAinfo previously spilled details on the newcomers, a “social good” coffee provider and organization started by two local residents called Subaltern Coffee Co. They’ve been serving up espresso, blends, pastries and cookies (from Saraghina) on weekday mornings from 7am to noon. The beer bar then opens up at 4pm.

Subaltern Coffee Co. sounds like a great company — some of its profits go toward local institutions like the Bedford-Stuyvesant Volunteer Ambulance Corps, the Audre Lorde Project and the Pamoja House homeless shelter. If you’d like to support them, besides visiting Bed Vyne Brew, you can pick up the blends online or at Bed-Stuy Fresh and Local.
