A few weeks ago I noticed that the Rabbit Moon coffee shop, at 334 Marcus Garvey Boulevard between Putnam and Madison, wasn’t open its normal hours. And then the mural on its security gate was promptly painted over, and it looks like the place is permanently shuttered. The cafe, which also sold fancy grocery items and served as a CSA pickup, was running for a few years. There’s no news of the closure on the Rabbit Moon website or Facebook.
I sometimes get the impression that businesses along Marcus Garvey don’t get a ton of foot traffic/business, but I may be wrong. Readers, any thoughts about how businesses are fairing along Marcus Garvey? I hate to see things close because it means another shuttered storefront on that drag. Regardless, there’s been some new stuff opening in the past year or so, like Tree House, Locale, Tepache and Bohaus.
